Hi,

I've setup a test lab using an Outlook '97 client and an Exchange 2000 server (both \
windows 2000). Both stations are separated by FW-1 FP3. As the setup is in early \
stage the rulebase allows service any in both directions. The outlook client connects \
to the exchange server successfully, however if the client isn't used for quite some \
time (ten-twenty minutes) and the user comes back and changes to a different \
mailfolder on the client side it takes a few minutes until outlook has reestablished \
the connection to the exchange server. The log info is kind of "th_flags TCP \
connection out of state" or something like that. As the client doesn't send any \
traffic using its sockets to the exchange server FW-1 blocks any further packet when \
the user comes back to its workstation. Did anybody solve kind of that issue? Does \
anybody know how to force Exchange server or that f**** outlook client to send TCP \
keep alive packets? Might it be a solution to use DCE inspection? How about using \
SecuRemote between client an firewall?

Regards,
Egonle
