that's of course up to every user to decide for themselves, unless you want to suggest
to remove all python versions and their packages from Fink entirely.
But that (switching to Fink-independent solutions for their pythonic needs) is a solution
I've heard from a couple of people here on the mailing lists, and understandable given
the challenge to keep up with the package updates and especially the rapidly growing
web of dependencies. But apart from the latter I've still found my Fink *-pyNN packages
to be working very well; and also I would not expect them to interfere with outside
Python installations, especially not anything using virtualenv or the like.
One thing to heed is that when using the Fink-installed pip, this will of course install into
the Fink directory tree, and that is bound to create trouble.
That said, I have not really experimented much with other solutions and if of how they
coexist with Fink. May find out sometime soon when giving Conda a try…
