Actually, I think I figured it out. Changing:
COMPREPLY=( $( compgen -W "${res}" -- "${ncur}" ) )
...to:
COMPREPLY=( $( compgen -W "${res}" -- "${ncur}" | sed -e 's/ /\\ /g' ) )
seems to have fixed it.
I've put out a 1.3-2 that fixes it for me.
