When I tried doing 'fink install openoffice.org', the build
failed.

For some reason, the openoffice installation process unpacks
a version of mozilla; then it makes the unpacked files
writeable; then it patches some of them. Then it runs
configure in the mozilla tree. The failure that I see seems
to occur in this run of the configure script in the mozilla
tree:

search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.7) not met; consider \
adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a \
nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

Note that if I run 'pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0' from the
command line, I get reasonable output.

A quick search for this failure on the Web didn't turn up
anything. I hope that this isn't a FAQ.

I'm running 10.3.9 and fink unstable on a 1.5-GHz PowerBook G4.

Thanks for any advice.
