Yes this should work.

You must keep all unicode characters within strings in the Scheme
files (i.e. within double quotes), but this should all work.  We've
done this for Nepali and Hindi, there though no way to type Devanagari
Script to the command interpreter, you'll need to put it in files and
use load (for code) or tts (for text).
