I think you should fix this problem (I belive thing still continue
to work with this error, but its good to fix it, also pau-pau is
probably the default diphone so its goo to get this one ok.
ENsure that the entry for pau-pau has start middle and end values
the increment over the waveform file

If that doesn't help do the following start festival do the command 
by hand

     festival
     ....
     festival> (load "festvox/pec_h_rit_diphone.scm")

     festival> (voice_pec_h_rit_diphone)

When any of these stages give and error type

     festival> (:backtrace)

and send me the output.
