There are platforms where restoring the flash drive is not straightforward  
and even in Fedora, it's not as simple as it seems. For example, GParted  
spits a whole bunch of error messages about the flash drive and it also  
sees it as 4 times bigger than it really is. On the other hand, I think  
Gnome Disks does its job alright.
On Windows, when you click the drive and select "Format", you can only  
format the first partition of the flash drive which is about 5MB. You  
would have to open a pretty much hidden drive and partition manager that  
can do the job but it's not really easy to use.

Over all, I think this functionality is a necessary part of the tool which  
won't make a regular user feel punished for sacrificing a flash drive for  
trying Fedora.
