Hi,

Yes. I am doing this via the OGR FDO provider.
I have found a similar issue for DGN feature class at
"http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/Issue-getting-spatial-extent-of-DGN-files-td5891634.html"
 and I assume the same applies to this issue too.
