If you could suggest a pda that familiar linux would work the best on,
what model would it be?
also, how well is touch screen stylus support under the opie or gpe?

As you can see the network and the NFS mount come successful. It fails
when to mount the root. I try to track the problem and it seems fails
when to do_mount the path doesn't exist. The root path is fixed as
"/root" if I change that to "/" it goes further but it fails on console.
The console problem I think is still related to the root mount being
wrong even it passed with the change I did.
Can anyone help or point out where to look for clues .

The honest answer to that is h3800. I wouldn't bother with that handheld
unless you could get it for very cheap. The age of the li-ion battery
alone would make it undesirable (although replacing the battery is
possible).
For familiar use I would consider the h555x or hx4700. For general linux
use I would consider the sharp zaurii, anything from the c-760
generation or better. The Nokia 770 is a great linux computer but it is
substantially larger then the other devices I have mentioned.

Both environments support the touch screen and all of the handhelds I
mentioned have a working touchscreen.
