I imagine that even that one will do. Say, BT card and BT-enabled harddisk
on the bookshelf. Or usb host (CF on pcmcia adapter, perhaps) and tons of
equipment from the nearest shop :-).

I wonder, what factors were responsible for choosing this rather than wifi
or bluetooth during design phase? From this page

I realise that it is quite old standard with some interesting features.
And the page says it is really cheaper than Bluetooth. Sure, at 115 kbps
one cannot watch online movies but it should be sufficient for browsing,
email and text based apps. Linked with ability to connect DECT and PABXes
it may serve as a base for cheap and simple intranet.

Oh, I see, Siemens is a DECT leader :-). (or close to the point).

Maybe DECT isn't that bad. From the business point of view, cheap .eq.
good :-). And DECT-enabled Simpads could fit into industries and offices,
which seem to be the major customer. But I probably don't know enough to
judge it. Maybe there were other reasons too.
