I'm planning on trying both shotwell and digikam. The first apparently
already has the ability to import from f-spot (including tags) and I've
seen a script for migrating from f-spot to digikam. (I run a mostly
KDE system, but do have a few gnome apps.) I'll keep openphoto
I do note that the activity on github mono/f-spot is at least a bit
more recent then the gnome version, so I'm going to see if I can
actually compile from there, including using the newer lcms, but I
don't plan on spending much time on it.
