Initial Comment:
On Solaris 5.6 under apache 1.3.19, using mod_perl or
cgi-bin we get a crash of the code saying:

[Thu Apr 19 17:13:01 2001] [notice] child pid 16647
exit signal Illegal Instruction (4)

The parser does run properly from a command line.
The xml we are parsing is:
