Actually, let me improve me report of the memory footprint.

The machine I've running this on is a DEC Alpha running their OSF/1 (3.2)
(it has 2 cpus and 128M of memory, but I digress).

Here is a better snapshot of my activity right now:

TIME PAGEIN VSZ RSS %MEM COMMAND
    6:46.83 1290 7.95M 3.9M 3.1 (wish4.2 ... exmh)
    0:14.58 475 5.26M 864K 0.7 (wish4.2 ... exmh-bg)
    0:00.19 0 4.48M 680K 0.5 (wish4.2 ... exmh-async)
    0:00.56 0 1.93M 384K 0.3 vi +/^[-]*$ /users/loverso/Mail/drafts/2
    0:00.28 0 4.53M 728K 0.6 wish4.2

The exmh-async and vi are what I'm using at this instant to compose this
message. The wish4.2 is a brand new wish I started up just to measure it's
initial footprint.

So, the 7.95Mb virtual size isn't a problem; exmh seems to really only be
using 3Mb on top of the overhead for wish4.2.

John
