There are two ways:

1)  The x-face header can be added to your various "components" 
    files.  Have a look at FAQ #6 and #6b.  You may also need to
    look at FAQ #15

2)  The x-image-url header can be added to your various 
    "components" files.  See FAQ #15 for adding it.  An
    x-image-url header is just a pointer to any image of you or
    of what you want people to think you look like :)  Be kind
    to your fellow netizen and keep it small, 48x48 is 
    recommended.

Find a message with someone's picture in it and look over the
message's headers.  You'll find one of those in it.
