If you'd like to submit one that is providing a backwards compatible log format that \
wouldn't require a rework of all the higher level tools that can process the current \
logs, it could be considered.

However, given that there's a way to do what you want already using an existing tool, \
I'm not at all sure what the other maintainers would think.

You're probably better off discussing this further over on the exim-dev list.
