I think it's all conflated. Verizon owns both AOL and Yahoo now. The MX
record for verizon.net is

verizon.net.		300	IN	MX	10 mx-aol.mail.gm0.yahoodns.net.

It doesn't really matter. They've all been known to mangle mail at one
time or another.
