In addition, you will need to configure evolution like this:
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
otherwise you need to set GNOME_PATH and ACLOCAL_FLAGS, etc.
(or alternatively, you can build gnome-libs from source, and then install
evolution and its dependencies into the same prefix you installed
gnome-libs into).
