Hi

I have some questions about the degraded RAID5.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Setup: FC5 kernel 2.6.15, EVMS V 2.5.5

1. Create RAID5 by sda, sdb, sdc, sdd:
create: Region, MDRaid5RegMgr={}, sda, sdb, sdc, sdd
  create: Volume, md/md0, Name=volume1
  mkfs: XFS={}, /dev/evms/volume1
  Mount: /dev/evms/volume1, /mnt

2. Shutdown and remove index 3 disk
(The Resyncing Process is not finished yet)

3. Run evms_activate, it says cannot start dirty degraded array:
MDRaid5RegMgr: RAID5 array md/md0 is missing the member with RAID index 3.
The array is running in degrade mode.
MDRaid5RegMgr: Region md/md0 is currently in degraded mode. To bring it
back to normal state, add 1 new spare device to replace the faulty or
missing device
.
md: md0: raid array is not clean -- starting background reconstruction
raid5: device sda operational as raid disk 2
raid5: device sdb operational as raid disk 1
raid5: device sdc operational as raid disk 0
raid5: cannot start dirty degraded array for md0
RAID5 conf printout:
 --- rd:4 wd:3 fd:1
 disk 0, o:1, dev:sdc
 disk 1, o:1, dev:sdb
 disk 2, o:1, dev:sda
raid5: failed to run raid set md0
md: pers->run() failed ...
md: array md0 already has disks!
md: array md0 already has disks!
md: array md0 already has disks!

4. Is this normal (Remove disk while Resyncing not completed)?
If this is normal, is there anyway to activate Dirty Degraded RAID5 ?

5. I tried to activate this RAID5 but failed:
#mdadm -S /dev/md0
#mdadm -Af /dev/md0 /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc
mdadm: failed to RUN_ARRAY /dev/md0: Input/output error
# cat /proc/mdstat
