Sorry, but no.  The problem is that both the structure used for block IO
(beffer head) uses a 32 bit sector number to denote the location of the
read/write.  Both the buffer cache and the device drivers have dependancies
on this.  So while EVMS could create such a logical dvice, it would be
unreadable by the rest of the system.
