I did not want to make holes in the volume, of course not. I shinked the
filesystem to have enough space to remove the partition in the middle. I
expected that the extens belonging to the middle-partition are moved
into the free area. Automaticaly, without moving the data to a
replacement disk manually.

Yeah, something like that. I see that vgreduce was the wrong tool, but
there should be at least a more helpful error message.
