  a colleague wants to have a SW packaging tool for an embedded
system, and was considering dpkg.  seemed like a reasonable choice,
all i could offer in the way of advice was also "ipkg", which is
what's used on my sharp zaurus.

  any strong opinions on this list?  other alternatives?  "rpm" seems
like overkill, obviously we want to keep it simple and minimal.
