Hello

First I would like to thank you Karim Yaghmour for a great book. Until I got
your book I stumbled along as best as I could. I managed and I got things to
work, but I was never quite sure about what I was doing.

I put together the toolchain you suggested for i386 host and ARM target:
binutils 2.10.1
gcc 2.95.3
glibc 2.1.3

with the "-DInhibit_lib hack" as you suggested (BTW. should I change this
back after the first build?)

I then tried to compile the kernel 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3 after "make
lubbock_config". The make zImage failed with a complaint about the -mxscale
switch.

I then changed to binutils 2.11.2. In this version "as" handles the -mxscale
switch.

Just thought I should mention that this worked. I have not rebuilt gcc and
glibc (do I have to?) so I can not verify that

binutils 2.11.2
gcc 2.95.3
glibc 2.1.3

works together if I started from scratch. I will try this when I find the
time, and post the result. (BTW I used RH8.0 on the host)

I hope this could be of help to others with the same problem.
