This work is not so much pre-alpha, but pre-DR.

I would like to know whether or not anyone else
is interested. I am not seeking to take over this niche
if others are already working on it. The name of my
files and fields et cetera may change.

In the present context WAP is a series of protocols
which use UDP ports 920x to send and receive WML.
This is functionally cognate to HTTP and HTML modified
for use over low-bandwidth high-loss networks.
Details of the protocol can be found the WAP forum site,
< URL:http://www.wapforum.org/ > in a PDF file. My copy
is named spec-wtp-19990611.pdf, but there may be a
more up to date version (look on p 40 et seq). I have
also used logs from the Kannel project
< URL:http//www.kannel.org/ > to aid my
understanding of the structure of the packets.

I enclose:

the files packet-wap.[ch],
a capture of a conversation between a Nokia 1.3beta emulator
and the Kannel gateway version 0.6 in which a single URL
       is requested and delivered,
patches for proto.c and other parts of the source.

Here is the help I need. Am I going about this the right way?
Is showing this oodes work considered rude?
Where my code is incomplete, this is probably due to my
misunderstanding the documentation, I should be grateful for
additional explanation; where it is unfinished, I probably know,
you are welcome to help, but I shall probably manage; where
my code is wrong, this is because I got it wrong, grateful
for correction (preferably polite).

If anyone has capture files that might be of interest, may I
know their location? If there are existing packet analysers
that can handle these packets it may be interesting to
see screenshots.

Ben.
