tho jefff's error is one of headers not being found - so it didnt even get to
using .la files. it seems like the .pc file is installed and says he has
librsvg and either doesnt give correct include flags (cflags) or the headers
are literally missing from the dev pkg (if cflags are wrong they are not
specifying the right location). my bets are on incorrectly packaged librsvg-dev
package
