how would it know to stop displaying? when u press alt+tab, it starts the
"winlist" action - the winlist knows what triggered it. if it was a keybinding
with a modifier - winlist stays up until the modifier is released (that is its
trigger) and every new alt+tab winlist action just advances int he list (which
thing is selected). without some signal/knowledge of when to go away - it
doesn't know, so the enter is then a must to select the window and go away
again.
