Hi all,

I'm seeing a rather strange phenomenon with the K3's transverter output
this evening. I'm using it to drive an OZ2M 70MHz transverter.

If I set up the drive level for the desired 40W out (after the 70MHz PA),
it needs about -12dB according to the K3.

After a few minutes' of TX, the power out is substantially reduced - but
here's the strange bit. If I now twiddle the power knob clockwise, the
display still indicates -12dB, but the actual power out increases back to
the original setting! Similarly if I go into the config menu, and change
the transverter drive down to 0.04 and back to 0.05, full power is restored.

This pattern continues - a gradual decline in TX power, restored by a quick
twiddle of the TX power out to get it back up, then a gradual decline again.

Any thoughts very much appreciated!

(Unfortunately I don't have a mW-level power meter so I can't easily verify
the IF power out, but the fact that twiddling a knob that doesn't have a
displayed effect on the K3 makes me suspicious it's at the rig end...)

Rob, M0VFC
