Not that this is much help Preston, but it seems like I remember reading
that XP SP2 caused problems with the MS VPN ? Or maybe it was the MS
firewall ? Did you try turning that off ?

We use the VPN client from Cisco and have no problems...

Good luck and welcome "out into the open" :-)

Chuck

Subject: [Dshield] IPSec, Windows XP VPN Client, and Linksys Routers

Hi guys. I'm usually just a reader of this forum, but I've found that I need
some assistance setting up a Router-to-Client VPN. I currently have a client
who has a Linksys small business router (RV016) who needs me to set up VPN
tunnels for them. I am having an incredibly difficult time getting the
Windows XP VPN client to connect to the router. I'm fairly inexperienced
when it comes to IPSec though. I have discussed it with Linksys help
support, and they are telling me that I have the router set up correctly.
Thus, I am fairly certain that there is something wrong with my
implementation of IPSec on Windows XP.

Can you guys offer and ideas or possibly links to help documents? I have
scoured the internet looking for support on this and can't seem to find
anything that solves my issues.

Thanks for your help.
