Have you followed the instructions in the DRI Users Guide? Such as 
making sure to specify that the DRI module is loaded, and setting up 
the DRI section in your XF86Config file?

If not, you'll want to do that first, and if it still doesn't work, 
send another message (along with a copy of /var/log/XFree86.0.log and 
your XF86Config file).
