Mark Cass has been working on this. AFAIK he is fixing up the Savage
driver for the company he's working for. He hasn't contributed any
patches to the driver in CVS yet. I'm still hoping he will ...

I don't have time to work on the driver myself ATM. When that changes
there are more basic problems to solve first (even though the driver may
appear to be working pretty well). So don't hold your breath.
