Adrian,

I'm not familiar with Ark Linux, and from lack of response to your post 
most of the readers of this list may not be familiar with it, either. 
Try stepping thrue the debugging steps 8 & 9 in the users guide 
http://dri.sourceforge.net/doc/DRIuserguide.html
