Do a checkout of the branch into an out-of-the-way directory (not
/usr/src, so you don't get confused later).
Then any commits made from that checked out tree will go back to
the branch.
cd <some_temporary_place>
cvs -d <path_to_cvs> checkout -rDragonFly_RELEASE_1_2 src
... do work ...
cvs -d <your_crater_account> commit <files>
