Howdy,

The NOLOCKMGR problem that I had seems to be related to configuring 2 nodes
when only one is active.  Modifying the configuration for only 1 node
(what you have been testing) works the way you described.  What I'm planning
to work on is comparing a working log for 1 node with the broken log with
2 nodes configured.

Thank you both for ingerating the proc fs changes which are working great.
There are other minor changes for 2.4, initializing mutex and semephores,
and some changes for compiling in my environment.  I'll try to get a little
more working and then send you a complete set of my proposed changes.
