Did you check the multilog process? How long has it been up, according
to svstat /service/tinydns/log?

I seem to recall some flakiness with strace under FreeBSD in the
past...have you tried truss or ktrace?

Can you restart the tinydns process and get the same behavior? If so,
can you try tracing from the start rather than attaching after the fact?

I believe this has to do with a FreeBSD internal limit. Try:

  sysctl kern.ps_arg_cache_limit=512

and then restart readproctitle.
