A list archive search, OTOH, yields at least half a dozen matches.

It means you should read the axfr-get man page more closely, in
particular the 2nd para:

  Normally axfr-get is run under tcpclient, which sets up descriptors
  6 and 7 as a TCP connection to a remote host.
