Hello,

I have Red Hat Linux 7.1 with DHCP-2.0pl5, suppose you have a DNS that generate the \
IP addresses with the names and vice-versa with the $GENERATE directive, suppose also \
that you have a network with 200 machines and you don't want to type 200 times IP \
addresses & masks, only the names, and the client send the name to the DHCP server. \
Will the server send you the IP address registered with the sent name on the DNS ?

One sample:

File: domain.com

$ORIGIN domain.com

....
....

$GENERATE 10-200 machine$ A 192.168.0.$

File: 192.168.0

$ORIGIN 0.168.192.in-addr.arpa
....
....
$GENERATE 10-200 192.168.0.$ PTR machine$.domain.com.

I want that the client send the hostname machine15.domain.com to the DHCP and gets \
the IP 192.168.0.15

Is this posible ?, How ?, Thanks a lot for the answers...
