That's unrelated.   That just lets you specify an IP address that will
always be configured on the interface.   Take a look at the
dhclient.conf documentation for ALIAS DECLARATIONS.   I've never tried
to do this on Linux, so it's entirely possible that the
dhclient-script for Linux is broken in this regard.
