In my area (dallas) i'm using AT&T... with the following params in
dhclient.conf

--- begin ---
timeout 60;
retry 15;
reboot 10;
select-timeout 5;
initial-interval 2;

interface "rl0" {
    send host-name "xxx";
    send dhcp-client-identifier "xxx";
    send dhcp-lease-time 3600;
    script "/etc/dhclient-script";
}
--- end ---

The "xxx" for the host-name and client-idendifier are that of my
account/win 9x computer name.

I was unable to obtain a lease until i started using at least the
host-name param. I don't know if the client-identifier is really needed.

good luck.
