Dear readers!
I'm using dhclient 3.0pl2 with a very old verions od dhcpd (2.x).
Just doing: dhclient gives the error-message: No broadcast
interface found - exiting
So I configured the interface via ifconfig eth0 10.1.2.3, but then the
server receives invalid pakets.
Here's the servers syslog-message
Jul 21 07:27:26 ns1 dhcpd: Discarding packet with invalid
hlen.
And here's some tcpdump-output. The length of the hardware-address is
0xff instead of 0x06 and the mac is missing

The laptop runs linux 2.4.21.
Is there something wrong with my dhclient.conf file?What's going on?
