Dear Debianers!

I have just installed Debian potato. I have a problem with the
dialup internet access. At install time, I configured wvdial
succesfully, my external modem was recognised as well. When I dial
my isp it connects (pppd started, my modem handshakes etc.), but
virtually no connection can be estabilished. Not even ping works.
(it does not matter whether I do it as root or user).

What is going on?
