I've played with the darcs static-linux-binary for a couple of days, and
it all seems to work fine -- in fact I am rather liking darcs! So I
installed ghc, grabbed the darcs repo and built it. The tests seem to pass,
but I've a problem trying to run my own tests:

From the directory with the freshly built darcs:

  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs$ mkdir Foo
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs$ cd Foo
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ ../darcs --version
  1.0.1
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ ../darcs changes --last 1
Fri Jan 14 04:43:31 CST 2005 Kirill Smelkov <kirr * Added linux kernel
  ...

  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ ../darcs init
jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ ../darcs setpref test "echo test"
Changing value of test from '' to 'echo test'
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ ../darcs record
  changepref test
  echo test
Shall I record this patch? (1/1) [ynWsfqadjk], or ? for help: y
What is the patch name? test
Do you want to add a long comment? [yn] n
  Running test...
  Test failed!
Looks like you have a bad patch!
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$

Yet the previously installed static-binary works fine:

  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$ darcs record
  changepref test
  echo test
Shall I record this patch? (1/1) [ynWsfqadjk], or ? for help: y
What is the patch name? foo
Do you want to add a long comment? [yn] n
  Running test...
  test
  Test ran successfully.
  Looks like a good patch.
  Finished recording patch 'foo'
  jandrew:~/devel/darcs_sources/darcs/Foo$

Am I just braindead today[1] and missing some obvious config / PATH
related quirk?

regards,
andrew

Some people, when confronted with a problem, think 'I know,
I'll use regular expressions.' Now they have two problems.
