The current slim source location is broken. The downloaded
file contains a garbage. berlios.de has some issues with their disks, I
guess.

Apart from reporting this to bug tracker, try downloading the
tarball from http://download2.berlios.de/slim/slim-1.3.1.tar.gz (which
seems to work) directly or changing the relevant "source" variable in
'/usr/ports/opt/slim/Pkgfile'.
