It should.

Replace aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd with an IPv6 address, in normal hexadecimal 
representation.  Telnet to your own port 25, and see how the IPv6 address 
gets logged in maillog, and append a period, then everything inside [], to 
$CERTFILE.
