I will try the VMWare Server for now, and if it works,
puchase the Workstation 6 verison to include my Everquest
installation.

Again thank you for the helpful suggestions and thoughts.

John

VMWare Server is free. And you can use it to create new Virtual Machines
(VMs). But it doesn't have the new features that VMWare Workstation 6 or
VMWare Player 2 have - support for 3D graphics, better USB support, shared
folders, etc.

VMWare Player 2.0 is free. And it supports 3D graphics, performs better
with games, and has lots of other nice features. But you can't create new
VMs with it.

There is a free program to convert an existing Windows XP install to a VM.
I think it is VMWare Converter.

I just use VMWare to run my XP system from time to time, as well as a few
pre-set VMs you can download for free for special purposes. So I don't
really need the ability to create new VMs.

Thus, VMWare Player 2.0 is the best solution for me. It does mean that I
have to learn how to edit the .vmx file by hand to get all the features I
want, though.

HTH.
