some debugging by Flynn Marquardt, who had the same problem, showed,
that it's the apcups' plugins fault. I'll try to resolve the issue and
release a new version as soon as possible. As a workaround for now,
deactivate the plugin unless you use it, i.e. have `apcupsd' actually
running.
