I just downloaded and installed coLinux coLinux-20040429.exe. After running
coLinux-daemon.exe --install-service, I was unable to get the service to
start. However, it turned out the problem was that while the installation
will download a root filesystem image, it doesn't expand the image and
re-name it root_fs. After I did that, the service started for me with no
problems. 

I'm not sure why you're having security problems, but you might want to look
at your local security policies to see if you've changed anything. My system
is a fresh install of Windows XP that has never had coLinux on it before.
