I have received very valuable patches to RPC2 from the Odyssey group.
They affect computations of retransmission times and timeouts and provide
an extension for float arguments in RPCs.

This version of RPC2 is NOT compatible with the current version. 

I plan to proceed as follow:

- release 4.4.3: containing the RPC2 patches: to be done asap

This will require everyone to switch over in ONE blow.  Of course Henry
and I will test the stuff out before hand and have a plan in case
something appears not to work after all. 

- release 4.6.0 and later as announced earlier.
