I gave each of my oldest nephews (ages 7, 10 and 15) a fully loaded Apple
//e or Apple //c+ for Christmas. They were pretty thrilled. I spent
Christmas Eve and half of Christmas Day teaching the 10 year old how to
program his own video game (he wants to write games for his PlayStation 2
and make a "million dollars" :) We ended up with a pretty cool little
game. As time goes on I'll be introducing them to ever more challenging
concepts. I figure by the time they graduate high school they'll be
ready to enter a Masters level university program ;)

If you always thought that vintage computers would be the best tools to
teach kids with, you were certainly right.

I'm doing my part to stem the tide, but I'm just one man in this
burgeoning nation of idiots.
