It is quite possible this was a security fix release.

There are many times Cisco will publish software for anyone to download to
fix major problems and security holes.

Dear all,

I just don't get it. My CCO id do not have the privileges to download any
kind of IOS software. I check the IOS website to see which release is latest
and check the release notes. Interestingly, when 12.2(46) was released for
3560/3750, for curiosity I clicked on the link and it allowed me to
download. Now it is almost a month and this time it is 12.2(50). But it is
showing a lock icon with the download link.
However, 12.2(46) is still download-able.

I just don't have a clue what is going on???
