Evan spoke so glowingly about KDE I had to go have a look.  While I haven't
used it, and thus can't speak in an informed fashion (especially where
functionality is concerned), I can say that I didn't much care for the look
of it.  It's rather reminicient of a genetic-experiment-gone-wrong aimed at
crossing OpenLook and CDE.  Each to their own, I guess.  My favorite
desktop is the console.
