Yes.  This is one of the known bugs (and a very unfortunate one, but with
an easy workaround).  id uses /etc/passwd to get the user name.
If you use lisa to add users, the read permissions for /etc/passwd
are removed for group and world.

For the time being, please use adduser to add users to the system.
I believe a fix for this will be available soon (RSN, that is :^)

To work around this problem, just 'su' to root and 'chmod a+r /etc/passwd'
